Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

am.pool running!  one hour: 5 minute warm-up, 25 x (90 seconds hard, 30 seconds easy) with 90 second breaks between sets of 10.  I actually experienced a decent amount of aerobic distress--very satisfying! I had time for a 3 minute cooldown.  Hopefully I get to do some swimming later this afternoon.  I find it entertaining to cook up ridiculous interval workouts that I could never, never get away with in normal running.

afternoon:  1750 yards(1 mile) crawlstroke in 43 minutes. I kept having to stop and empty water out of my goggles, I cannot get those things figured out.  Swimming still sucks.

Very interesting, I am watching this closely since I will undoubtedly have my turn in the pool at some point.

No kidding, I'd make it through maybe 3 sets of that in running.

I'm guessing you'll be on a first-name basis with the entire YMCA staff by the end of the week.

flat--I hope you don't ever get forced into the pool for injury reasons...this will be interesting to me down the road to see how much fitness really stays with me when I start running again...

Joe--the staff still watches me closely; I must look like I am drowning half the time

inspiring April. I seriously don't know if I could handle therapy for a serious injury...I would go bezerk but you are handling it real well. Swimming is great!! Way to go, nice time for the mile : D.

Just coming to check on my favorite water runner. Looks like you're doing good, so I'll let you go. Talk to you later.
