Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:29 AP.  Did this without fuel or water, but was definitely feeling in need of something around mile 17.  There was a 17mph North wind but I didn't notice it until I had to go straight into in mile 21, and then I noticed it a lot as is reflected by my lousy split.  Started off very slow to see if my left calf and weird knee feeling would pass when I warmed up and it did by about mile 2.  I think my shin muscle and calf are still just a little sore over there.  Racing flats are unlikely, I may just run in the old trustworthy's I ran in today.  Splits 7:59, 7:59, 7:43, 7:37, 7:23, 7:23, 7:20, 7:27, 7:18, 7:22, 7:16, 7:30, 7:19, 7:19, 7:28, 7:30, 7:20, 7:21, 7:25, 7:27, 7:52, 7:09

Wow! Good miles! I'm amazed that you can do this without fuel or water. What's your prerun routine? Do you eat before running?

Are the shoes you wore today much heavier than your flats? Hopefully they will still work out well for you!

I was told by melanie that if you run your 20 miles in 2:30 you can run a 3 hour marathon. That's a 7:30 AP. Melanie and Kim ran several at that and faster and then the darn heat!!! at SGM!! Did this feel easy? Why aren't you fueling? Is Allie coaching you : D ? She only ate one shot block, I think at Deseret Marathon. GREAT JOB!!! TERRIFIC!! AMAZING!! SUPER!!!! KEEP IT UP!!!

Man you are good...I would want to bring a sandwich or something!

Wow, yeah I'm pretty sure my body would shut right down without the fuel or hydration. I bet when you actually do have the carbs and during the race it'll help a ton. Awesome run, hopefully we'll get good conditions in Houston.

Oh my gosh! That's a 3:13 marathon right there.

Tracy--I pig out the night before and then have oatmeal and gatorade about an hour before I run.

Julie--ever since my last disaster marathon I have not been able to stomach the thought of gu. After my 15 or 16 milers went okay un-fueled I just kept doing it. I do think in Houston I will be gulping gatorade at most of the aid stations. 7:30 pace feels easy until about 18 miles of it--I should really be fueling

April--I really should brought something, maybe it wouldn't have been so hard at the end

Joe--I am hoping for no wind or rain, sun, and relatively cool temps. 40-50 would be perfect. Perfect!

Burt--hmmm I guess you are right. I should've finished 4.2 more miles and just got a PR so I would have no pressure in Houston
