Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

71 degrees here and WINDY. It must be coming your way, hopefully. : D.

Joe--yep! Psycho Wyco is July 9th--I'm doing the 50K. Last year I did the 25K when my general fitness was better although I did not specifically train..and finished in 2:41. Based on that, I'm going to be out there for 6 hours on that 50K including the heat of the day. With the mud, rocks, and 12,000 feet of elevation change it is a doozy of a trail race! I need to be as tough as I can get. Julie--I'll pass on the wind but will take the 71 degrees!

This is hard core stuff, like you are training for Badwater or something. Good job, I think there is a lot of training going on at these slow summer speeds.

Beyond Brutal!

I came to check your weight! Come on, I can not be the only one around here brave enough to do it!!!! Really, I just want company in my embarrassment!

It must be preparing you for a HOT SGM!! : D. Sorry April. Hey, are you wearing the ice cold cap? better yet an ice cold wash cloth (white) placed in the freezer a few minutes before leaving on a run.

Julie, don't you dare go jinxing the marathon into being another hot one! I will hold you personally responsible if we have a repeat of last year!!!

118 freakin pounds on 5'1". Just for you Kelli. 104 is my best race weight. *sigh* I weighed 125 5 months pregnant bwahahaha.

From Kelli on Tue, Jun 07, 2011 at 21:23:41 from 71.219.70.51

OH, you are still pretty tiny! Check out this chart:

http://www.healthchecksystems.com/heightweightchart.htm

You are within the range for your height for a small framed person!! I am barely within the range for a medium frame and can get to the small frame range for only a few days here and there!

YOU ARE TINY!!!!! But, you know where you want to be, ideal racing weight and all! So, let's motivate each other to get our butts in gear.

From seeaprilrun on Tue, Jun 07, 2011 at 21:29:17 from 174.70.177.86

Heehee I am THE top end of my range! at 119 am I considered overweight?! We can totally do this. I have resorted to the 1500 calories a day that got weight off me in the first place. My problem is simple: I eat too much, and I ate too much for my activity level while injured and even before. I have to learn to tone down the portions big time and then when I get to my weight can increase as needed to maintain. At 104 I was strong, felt great, and ran great.

From Kelli on Tue, Jun 07, 2011 at 21:31:09 from 71.219.70.51

NO, not overweight, just medium framed! I think I am a medium framed person, so I just need to get into that range!!

I had the same issue, ate like I was running 10-15 miles a day! Stupid move! I LOVE FOOD!!!!!

I am following Weight Watchers, which is how I lost 30+ pounds about 5 years ago. I think it gives me about 1200 calories a day, plus some extra if I am hungry or worked out (which I always eat!)
