I accidentally ran 100 miles in November 2013.  it was hard.  I threw up a lot.  decided to do a better job next time

I did it again on purpose October 2014--Heartland 100 winner and CR 17:38:37

Sub 3 hour marathon--SOMEDAY!  Done!

Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.  
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:39 AP.  Tried out the crocs!  I wore my favorite pink running socks with black crocs.  They were deliciously light and comfortable and the run felt fantastic.  I was running very comfortably but yet the pace was quicker.  My feet felt light and free and so did my legs.  Only downfall, a hot spot and small blister in the crease of each big toe.  I believe it is because there is sort of a bump there in the bed of the shoe as part of the inner pattern.  What to do?  Put in inserts?  I don't know what kind of inserts I could stick in there.  I also thought about just fileing the bump down.  Any suggestions?  They feel fantastic and I want to run in them more!  Nothing hurts, not my calves, achilles, nothing.  That silly bump just rubs my toes the wrong way.

glad you had a nice run in your crocs. not sure about the toe thing. maybe too small of size? maybe you need thicker socks?

I guess this is some new thing that I haven't heard of. Regular crocs? Or a different design?

I would try the vaseline or thicker socks before trying to mess with the shoe itself.

As far as I know they are just regular crocs. They have little bumps all over the bottom under your foot as a pattern, and then there is a bigger bump that sort of separates the foot from the toes in a pattern, it's not dramatic or anything but I think it may be the problem. Although, I walked around in them barefoot this morning and didn't even feel the bump, so maybe I am "toeing off" a little more when I run since the crocs allow a lot more free motion and toe spread with my feet.

Wow, so light you could actually taste it?! That sounds wonderful. I see no problem with sanding the bump off. Regular running shoes don't come with any bumps.

That is so bizarre to me, really! How do your feet not slide all around? Apparently it is the thing to do, maybe one day I will have to give it a try!

Nice job, though! It is great to feel you felt good and just went naturally faster.

Wow, that's cool it went so well. My shoes are real clunkers so I could see where that might make a difference. Hope you figure out the toe thing, maybe you could race a 5 or 10k in them, if not more eventually.
