Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:13 AP.  HS course with Eddy.  Glad he's got his legs back!  Bracing myself for a week of taper madness.  I am doing a pretty dramatic volume reduction to stave off injury and get rested and fresh and I'm pretty sure it will drive me crazy.

Take it easy this week. I'm looking forward to reading about your race next week!

Not sure if you're obsessing over the weather like me, but it's looking really good so far...hopefully it holds up!

Tracy and April--it is hard to cut back and not run as much. Truthfully, it makes me feel...fat. My appetite is just as huge but I'm just not running off the calories I'm taking in, or at least it feels that way.

Joe--I haven't obssessed much over the weather yet--with all the winter blasting here I figure Houston has got to be better. I am reaching that stage though where every time I think of the marathon my stomach twists into a knot. It's getting close. Tapering is always hard for me. I am trying to mentally hammer it home that I need to go out easy the first half and then jump on the pain train and give it everything the second half. I have unfinished business with the last 10K of a marathon and this time I want to win that battle!

I"m so glad you said that. I haven't bee running as much lately but of course I still eat the same amount. I know I have gained some b/c some pants don't fit the same--I def feel fat.

Non running friends don't get this b/c to them I"m still skinny. :)

Yeah, the wind just doesn't blow there and the temps will be well above freezing. That last 10K scares me...I am probably going to be picking your brain on Saturday.
