Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:24 AP.  Talk about dead-legged and sluggish.  I plodded my way through, exploring the dirt roads east of here and found some decent rollers to run on.  The south wind was quite feisty by the time I ran in the afternoon.  I was planning on another threshold/speed session tomorrow but if my legs are still dead I will probably can it for another easy day.  Part of me wants to take an easy week, but part of me says there is only 3 1/2 weeks to taper time so just barge on through and get it done.  This, I see, may be the folly of running marathons so close together.

Wow, another marathon so soon?! I don't know about you, but I would listen to the part of me that wants an easy week (or maybe just a few days, but probably a day of complete rest too)! Good luck.

How are you only 6th on the mileage board? Goodness!

Claudio--this is a bit of an experiment; marathons 10 weeks apart, although Houston was only 14 weeks apart from my October marathon! After this NO marathons until fall I promise! I just can't miss this one coming up unless I am badly injured..I want to defend my title. You are right, I need to find some rest--I think I will be backing it down next week and then rallying for the final push before taper time.

Burt--Seriously! Who are these people!? How can they run so much? I don't think I can catch up.

I suggest the two days of NOTHING. It does amazing things. My weekend off, seemed to re-boot me. I did it when work was busier and didn't have the time as well to squeeze the running in. It let my mind relax and not think running is the do all. I could just do all the other stuff without the guilt. Then off course running came into play again, nicely. : D.

Guess you can always see how the first set goes, then jog it in and do some easy stuff if still sluggish. I know what you mean about not wanting to take it easy before your taper starts.
