Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:25 average pace.  Pressed for time--had to take Vanessa to my mom's and go to work.  One of the places I applied for called and offered me a job, but the pay increase is marginal and the benefits cost way more than where I work now, so looks like I will be turning that down and holding out for something better.

Still an awesome run April. I know the "rushed" feeling. Just getting it done is all we can do somedays. What do you think we should run our tempo runs at? I was thinking of 7 minute pace for 7 miles. Then over the weeks getting in longer to maybe 11 or 12 miles. And I am sure I have to run them on the TM or downhill outside because I lose focus. I know you have a plan and I figure it includes some good tempos. When again is your marathon? Mine is third Sat in May.

PS how old are your kids? I don't know how you do it with five. I can barely keep up with three girls and the night shift.

Julie--I bet 7:00 is perfect marathon tempo pace for you--still a little fast for me. My long tempo intervals are about 10-mile race pace, so 6:52, and my actual target marathon pace is 7:25. My marathon is April 10, only a little over 10 weeks. I am shooting for a 3:15, and if all goes well I will go for a 3:05 in the fall. My kids are 18,15,9,8, 2. The 18 year old has more or less moved out and we don't see him as often as we like. Our 15 year old is a typical emotional, hormonal teenager. The other 3 actually all play together very well and don't fight much(miraculous). I am very lucky!
