Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

Workout 1 today.  The target was 3x1.5 at tempo(6:52) pace with .5 recovery at steady(8:09) pace.  Was too tired to get up early and drive to the treadmill so I did it on dirt roads with rolling hills.  A bit of a speed killer but gotta keep the impact to a minimum still.

2 mile warmup 10:00, 9:19(anticipatory slowness?)

1.51 in 10:42(7:05 pace), had to do a 180 halfway through

.49 recovery in 3:55(8:01 pace)

1.52 in 10:34(6:57 pace, getting closer), another 180 halfway through

.48 recovery in 3:53(8:03 pace)

1.51 in 10:12(6:45 pace) no hairpin turns this time

1 mile cooldown in 8:49

overall average for tempo miles 6:55 pace so close to target.  Tough workout and I got a blister under my big toe--haven't had a blister in a while--probably from tying my shoes so loose across the top to make my foot feel better.  Foot is doing good but is not 100% yet.

one circuit of strength drills.

That pace is really fast for a tempo pace. Isn't that faster than your intended race pace?

But regardless, impressive run!

Stupid blisters!!!!!

That is an awesome run there! I am so impressed with your tempo speeds---flat out amazing! Very nice work. And your rest in between was even darn speedy for a rest!!! Recover well from this workout! WOW.

Tracy--the tempo intervals are supposed to be 10-mile to 1/2 marathon race pace effort, but there are separate workouts at marathon tempo pace that are slower. I WISH I could run a marathon at this pace but not this year anyway, someday hopefully!

Good workout and nice job April!! I don't like these at all. Greg actually does this more as a fartlek run (e.g., 10 mins on and 3 min recovery) just to "trick" me into not realizing it is one of my more "dreaded" workouts!!

Awesome!! New picture?? Cool!!
