Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

1:15:19/8:21 average.  Slow start as always. Did .45 in the middle at comfortably very hard pace which the Garmin called 6:55--hopefully this translates into 6:30 pace or so for my 5k Saturday--I know comfortably hard on these dirt roads translated from 7:11 pace to 6:48 pace on my last race--we will find out on Saturday!  I am shooting for as close to 20 minutes as possible--I would love to go under but don't want to set an unrealistic goal.  Did 10 minutes of abs with a Denise Austin video I got.  It has 7 different 10-minute ab workouts.  I am a huge fan of Denise Austin--she never promoted any of this super-skinny anorexic diet until you die stuff--she is a strong-looking woman who is not ridiculously thin.

Splits were  9:26/9:24/8:28/8:09/.47 at 7:58 pace/.45 at 6:55 pace/8:24/8:12/8:05/7:55/7:54 pace for last little bit.  Clearly I am a person who takes a few miles to warm up.  Rest of my runs this week will be nice and easy!

What is the title of the ab video? I used to workout with Denise Austin in college and I always liked her. Does the difficulty vary on the 7 workouts? What is the intensity?

A nice run today, though. Good luck with a PR on Saturday.

The title is Best Belly Fat-Blasters: 7 of my favorite workouts--got it at Wal Mart! They are all a little different, with some focused on traditional crunches and stuff, a yoga segment, a pilates segment, etc.. So far I have tried out the abs target tone and abs power zone--good workouts for me! They are about medium intensity but she offers tips to make it harder if you are "advanced"--which I am not.

Still doing awesome April. 6:30 pace for 5k! wow! I sure hope you blast through your 5k PR!

You'll rock that 5k! I like Denise Austin too, she's strong, flexible, and healthy-looking, not plastic or abnormally thin. Sometimes her voice bothers me though... too soft ;)
