Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

2 hour pool run.  I met up with Amy who is also in stress fracture recovery and we chatted the whole time and it just flew! It was great.  I needed the stress relief without the drag of solo pool-flailing.  Life can be very hard sometimes, and yesterday, in an ugly moment and under duress, I spent 5 minutes in a Quik Trip parking lot talking myself out of buying a pack of cigarettes.  I even went in and used the bathroom and walked around a bought a soda before leaving.  Unbelievable, after all this time, that I could get hit by a craving like that and come that close to breaking.  Although I have never been addicted to street drugs or alcohol, I understand the power that an addiction can hold over a person, and don't see how it can be broken without the loving hand of God.

Whew! Glad you were able to find the strength to resist!

I still have a few moments like that myself and it has been over 10 years now. Good job resisting the urge April. Can't wait to hear how the x-rays go this week.

Nice job all around. I know not being able to run takes away an important stress-relief outlet so I'm glad you were able to resist and have a good pool run today.

I can't say how much I admire that you made it out of there in one piece. I think finding a pool buddy was a gift.

I am exhausted reading about all your swimming/pool running. How did you find the time?? I am thinking you worked less last year??? I am glad it is almost summer as the outdoor pools will be open- bubbles removed from outdoor pools.
