Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

7:00 AP.  My car broke.  David dropped me off at work at night, and I ran home in the morning.  I didn't intend on running this fast, but I was eager to get home and get to bed, and once I settled into a good rythm in the eerily quiet cold and dark, I was charging steadily home. / I was pretty okay aerobically at sub-7 pace, although my legs were getting tired at the end.  Course was fairly flat, some running on gravel on the shoulder when I got out of the city into the county.  I'm surprised and pleased that it came out like this, and am feeling pretty good about a sub-3 on a flat course in spring.  Splits 7:43, 7:22, 7:21, 7:17, 7:12, 6:52, 7:08, 6:53, 6:56, 6:49, 6:38, 6:42, 6:51, 6:58, 6:45, 6:38, last .25 at 6:23 pace.

Very nice run!

I run in the early morning hours but have to really talk myself into getting out alone. Once I am out I am good, but getting there is difficult. What have you done to adapt to running in the extreme morning hours alone?

just be careful!! but Totally AWESOME run!! ahhhh those are the paces I hit all summer and then over trained, so hold the reins girl!! : D BUT I have no doubt you have the sub 2:55 in you on a FLAT COURSE :D.

That's quite a run, especially early in the morning. Nice job!

Jody--nothing special, just knowing that I will be super mad if I don't get out and will have to feel guilty about any sweets I eat lol! Julie--Yeah, I'm taking the day off and trying not to get overboard with the fast runs. This one just sorta happened. I would love a sub 2:55 in spring, but I don't know if that is asking for too much too soon. Andrea--thanks!

Sorry about your car, but glad you got a memorable run out of it. It's OK to break out of your training mold once in a while, no harm done and the psychological boost is worth it.

Great run, almost MP for 16, wow. You definitely have a lot more marathon PR'ing to do in the future.
