Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:15 average pace.  The plan was to go 18 today but I was watching a storm off to the west and sure enough it began to roar up and head my way.  Abandoned ship toward the end and it was thundering and lightning pretty good as I ran a rather brisk last mile to get home.  I don't mind getting rained on but I will not risk getting struck by lightning.  Anyways, foot was holding up very well, the only part it got unhappy about was when I was on asphalt.  Felt like it would have been fine for 6 more miles if the weather had not stopped me.  I am encouraged today.  Slow and rickety start as always.  Splits 9:27/9:16/8:53/8:24/8:11/8:08/7:53/7:47/7:45/8:05/8:02/7:10, last little bit 6:29 pace.

Way to beat the storm. And I know you ran the extra 0.09 just in case I did 12 again this week and you could be ahead of me on the mileage board. Well, ha! I only ran 5.34!

Sorry about the lightening!!! Good idea to get in out of that. I actually love running in the rain, but nor the wind and lightening and thunder!!

So, is it still PF bugging you????

April, sorry that lightning limited your long run today. But still, good run.

Burt--the last .09 was a frightened sprint because the thunder was lound and I though surely any minute I was going to receive the electrical shock of my life

Kelli--yes, stupid PF. It has not been getting worse and is mostly an annoyance. It doesn't act quite like PF anymore so I am confused. I'm fine first thing in the morning, it hurts more at the end of a long day on my feet, and it hurts when I run on anything besides dirt. And there is a tender spot that I can press on and about come unglued. I am starting to wonder if it is a stone bruise but the things that make PF feel better make it feel better--arch supports are WONDERFUL and taping for runs feels really good too.

Eric--I will be dodging thunderstorms all week it looks like. I may attempt a long run again on Saturday since it is supposed to be clear.

The PT also has me strengthening my ankle, so maybe you can add that to your list of things to do! Mine acts up in weird ways, too, so who knows! When I originally went to the podiatrist I did not ave that first of the morning pain, either. And it still is not the worst pain I get, just more annoying and telling me, "Yes, I am still here!!" But after a day on my feet it kills! And, I have a spot on my heel that freaks under pressure, too.

Dang, anyway, good luck getting it better!!! Stupid PF!

DOWN WITH PF!! DOWN WITH PF!! NO RUNNER SHOULD EVER HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT!!
