Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

9:07 average pace.  Nice and easy.  Slept in and got out a little late, so it was heating up towards the end, but not too bad.  I have a group of fellow paramedics and some firefighters that are all going to a 5k race on the morning of the 4th of July.  I am considering going because it will be fun to run with people I know and it is a small-town race with an entry fee of only $10, but I will be fresh off an overnight shift (6pm to 6am) so I will be terribly tired and may not have time to get much of a warm up.  I dunno.  I probably won't decide until that morning.  I may just go and run and hang out and get my Saturday run in rather than all-out race effort, and then go home and go to bed since I have another night shift Saturday night.  Then again, I am a competitive gal and the temptation to try and chick all the guys I know may be more than I can take...or I may just be so tired I go home and don't run at all.  We will see.

I would suggest taking it easy & having fun. Specially after just getting off work!

Anyways, mileage looking good, this will be another 60+ week as I see it.

Ummmm, from experience that would be a difficult task. I have yet to run a race just coming off of work (I ran a 32 miler on a Saturday just having worked wednesday and thursday 6pm to 630am and actually came in fifth but would not recommend that kind of prerace prep). I also used to run my 20 milers after nights I did years ago (2001) and holy moly was I in the twilight zone. Being up all night I have been told is the equivalent of having 3 glasses of alcohol. The brain is worn out and the muscles are confused....they didn't get the sleep they needed. I know I sound negative but I don't want you to injure yourself or kick yourself if you don't get the goal you want. I am sure you could pull that rabbit out of your hat but it probably isn't necessary, it would only fatigue you later in the week. Run easy that day after a good or semi-good sleep. Good runs this week!!!
