Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

Longest run ever today.  It went really well.  It was 6 degrees when I started and 9 degrees when I finished.  I felt strong through the whole run and  never felt like stopping.  My husband met me 3 times with water and that is all I did for fuel.  I never felt fatigued, although my legs were a bit stiff at the end.  Breakfast was one of my nutrition-packed homemade granola bars and some coffee a half hour before I started running.  I now know I will be able to finish my half-marathon!  Time was 2:06:30 for 14.07 miles--8:59 pace.  Ice bath for feet and ankles and hot shower afterward.

Super April. You ran more than the half-marathon & at a very good pace.

High-five for you today!

When are you running your half-marathon?

From seeaprilrun on Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 11:38:32

January 17th if I make it to the starting line un-injured. It is the Topeka to Auburn half marathon and is known for having wicked weather and a few steep hills. I am concerned about the hills, since I have few hills here to train on but the little hills I do have I attack pretty hard when I run up them. That is all I can really do for hill training so I hope it is enough!

Check you out! Way to kick some tail today! How do you feel now (after your run)? You are awesome!

You are ready for that HM. Just take care to stay injury free.

Hills, yes, hills. I think I should do that myself. Someday...

I hope that you are resting today!

Camille--I actually feel really good and am not very sore! I was stiff and sore but only for the first few hours afterward and then it all seemed to go away. Weird! I think it helped that I had a massive breakfast afterward--eggs, bacon, salsa, toast and jelly, the works.
