Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

6.4 miserable, and I do mean miserable, miles on the treadmill in the laundry room at my mom's apartment.  I borrowed my son's zune and this was my first experience running with music, but it didn't seem to help much.  I have a new respect for treadmill runners.  The unrelenting, monotonous pace...ugh.  I ran at 9:22 pace which overground is a piece of cake for me but on the treadmill was quite brutal..I don't know why this is?  I suspect the heat and humidity in the laundry room contributed somewhat to my distress--I have become quite accustomed to cold air and wind--perhaps running in the exact opposite is a shock to my system.  I tried to jog a few steps overground but it is still a no go for my ankle.  I have decided if there is no improvement by Monday I will bypass the treadmill and either do a stationary bicycle or an elliptical for as long as I can stand it in place of a long run.  14 days until the half.  Oh please little ankle get over yourself and let me run my race I have worked so hard for.....

The treadmill is SO hard. I tried to pretend I was outside. Between that and Adam Sandler, I lived, but only barely! My friend said to focus on then time running, not the pace or the miles. Just get the time in at whatever pace feels good. That helped too. I sure hope your ankle gets to feeling better soon :)

Treadmills do suck! I always swear that it takes me longer to do a mile than on the road! Its not fair! All those Arizona and California runners are enjoying the sun right now. Not fair! I do envy them for that. Im totally jealous! But what can you do? Run in the snow! yeah (im losing it april!)
