Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:46 AP.  Early morning run through the campsites so it was nice and cool but I was still creaky and sore from Saturday's run plus all the battering from tubing and it took a while before I even ran any miles underneath 9 minutes.  I'm glad I ran though, my weekend dietary sins were numerous.  Eggs and pancakes from the campfire every morning, grilled meat and chips at lunches and dinners, and a shameful number of smores.  I don't even want to think about how many of those I ate!  The kids and us had a BLAST though and everyone is sunburned and worn out and has lots of stories to tell and adventures to rehash!

Sounds like fun! You need the calories for marathon training

Smores??

KP--camp food is indeed delicious, and I seem to always have a voracious appetite when camping!

Chris--smore, also known as s'more, is a camping favorite consisting of a marshmellow roasted over the fire and then smashed in between two graham cracker squares with a square of chocolate. mmmmm!

I want to come!! I love smores ... I hardly ever eat junk food, but smores ... they are my downfall (thankfully I never keep marshmellows, graham crakers, and chocolate in the house at one time ;-)).

I am so glad you had a good time!

Sounds like a good time. That trail half marathon you're up for sounds daunting. Hopefully your ankles held up ok.

The smores look good--I need some smores!
