Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

9:12 average pace.  Slow but not as slow as yesterday!  Still taking it easy--legs are enjoying the break and so am I.  I am really putting in the miles this week so need to take it easy.  Have to work until midnight and then get up at 4am tomorrow to get ready and drive to Hutchinson for a clinical beginning at 630am.  Yuck.  12 hour clinical and then drive all the way home.  If I get a run in tomorrow, and that's a big "if", it will be a very short one in the evening.  Husband is at a meeting right now--they called him in to meet with the plant vice-president--we think it is to lay him off but don't know for sure.  I am eagerly awaiting his call to see what happened. Sigh.

Update:  laid off effective immediately.  we anticipated this as a possibility so it is not a complete shock

Oh wow. Hope the news ISN'T what is expected. I'll say a prayer. Good luck--and good luck managing your stressful day tomorrow.

Oh, that sucks! Does he have any other options or back up plan?

Sorry of hear about your husband getting laid off. Hope there is a backup plan & things get well very soon.

BTW, good run, excellent miles.

We have enough money saved to get us through until I am done with nursing school in December. At that time I will have more time to work and make more money. In the meantime David will be looking for work that works with our schedule(we are not doing daycare so he can work mornings and weekends only to work around my work schedule). No need to panic we are very lucky that we saved a lot.

You sound like you are prepared. Hopefully he finds a good job to help supplement until you're done with school.

I"m sorry this happened. But happy you are preparted. My boyfriends work keeps talking about more lay offs. They already cut him from 50 hours a week down to 32. It is sooo scary out there! Luckliy he started listening to me and started saving money.

That's not good news, but glad to hear you were prepared. Things will get better soon! Way to put in 10 miles!
