Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

9:25 average pace.  Slept in and got out for my run a little later than usual and boy does it heat up early these days.  It was HOT.  It may get up to 100 degrees today.  I chugged some gatorade halfway through but I was still very thirsty and ready to be done at the end.  Chugged a massive amount of water and gatorade afterward.  Off to work.  Will probably just do 4 easy tomorrow with a few surges and consider myself as race ready as I will ever be.  Hubby will be there to cheer me on!--I guess there is an upside to his unemployment!  He will find somthing soon we hope.

Are you complementing your salt intake? I used to eat without salt, but since I started running six days a week, I crave for salt on my food almost always, weird no?

Good luck to hubby, hope that 'magic' job comes along soon.

Good luck on the race and the job hunting!!

Eric--I have had salt cravings and been hitting the salted peanuts and pretzels pretty hard!

Kelli--Thanks!

Pickle juice--wow! I like pickles, but have never straight drank the juice...

Well, I could have suggested mustard packets instead of GU!

Pickle juice. Remember my mother hiding the pickle jar since I drank all the pickle juice... have not done it in years, should do it again. Thanks Kelli !

All these suggestions sound scrumptious :)

Great running April! Mileage in oppressive heat is always difficult. So far for us the summer has been milder than normal, but when it heats up it's hard to find a good time to run.

Good luck with your race on Saturday! I'm looking forward to reading your race report that says you were sub-20. I know you'll do it!

When I worked in a restaurant we used to poor pickle juice on our grease burns.:) My kids like pickle juice. I never liked pickles until I was all grown up. Thanks Tracy! I hope I am sub-20 too. I will have extra motivation knowing that my husband is at the finish line cheering for me-- a rare treat!
