Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

It was 107 degrees according to the bank sign.  Wow.  Supposed to be this hot tomorrow too.  Started the treadmill at 7.6mph, but my calves felt acid-y and tight so I slowed down to 7mph, then that felt uncomfortably slow so I sped up to 7.1mph, did that for a while then sped up to 7.2mph.  8:19 AP for 7 miles.  Then I dashed out the door and ran a mile in the heat to see what it was like.  Not bad.  Came in and did .5 more on the treadmill while David finished his cool down and then the kids were whining and misbehaving so I had to call it a day and go deal with business.

do you find it hard to run a mile out on the roads after 7 on the treadmill? seems like it would feel weird.

good job on the run, especially that mile in the heat!

i agree with allie.

and, i love that 7 was too slow, but 7.1 was good enough for quite a while.

the heat here is brutal too. i was shopping last week and the stores already had out jackets. that made me sad. i'm not ready for summer to be over. at all.

I can never tell the difference when I change it by 0.1, just 0.2. But then I'm not the finely-tuned running machine you are. I like your idea about 1 mile outside to "see what it's like."

Allie--it did feel work, almost like getting off a boat and walking around

KP--I'm a hater, so I am totally ready for summer to be over :)

Joe--not so much finely-tuned--it was stiff aching calves that were being sensitive...

You've been running great lately! I can't believe that you ran outside 1 mile--seems like you just wanted some good punishment!
