Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:05 average pace.  mile 11 was 7:03 and felt comfortable.  A little extra for redemption today.  A weekend out of town eating out of stress and boredom was probably not the best for my waistline.

April, I think I will jog to my car few times to get some equal mileage with you : DDDDDDD We just keep goin' and goin'-- Eveready Vs. Energizer. Once again you win : D. Your consistency is paying off for you. Glad it felt easy girl!!

Well lady you are running some FAST miles. Most of mine are slower than yours! I'm mostly just trying to get more basic fitness in place before I get into speedier stuff(plus I'm trying to get a handle on this persistent weight gain)

Wt. gain? How much? Really April, with marathoning I never lost weight. It was just the allergenic diet that finally got me down. You are probably retaining water post marathon and haven't gotten rid of it since. Try eating some diuretic foods-- grapefruit, asparagus (watch out pee will smell nasty).

I have been 3 to 5 pounds heavier since the marathon. It has not moved. My eating habits have not changed. I eat pretty healthy and I refuse to be hungry so I'm not going to cut calories. I agree that it is probably water retention--my waist is bit bigger for sure. Grapefruit and asparagus huh? I will try it. This seems like a long time to retain water. I'm really not too worried about my weight or anything but at a whopping 5'1" it doesn't take much to make me chubby(3 lbs and I go up a size) so I just don't want to let it get out of control and keep gaining and end up where I was a year ago.

I'm not getting involved in this conversation.

come on Burt, give it a go. Okay April, try those foods first or others you might read about that have this affect. have you cut back on your coffee? since caffeine is a natural diuretic.... anyway hope its not one of those hormonal deals...fibroid etc... but I don't want to scare Burt off, I see his wings flapping.

No matter what I might say about a woman and weight gain could turn out good. So I'm going to zip it. Mum's the word.
